Expanded keyword targeting

Read time: 3 minutes

We have expanded our keyword targeting to include support for new operators and grouping.

Placing a plus sign “+” at the front of a keyword will now set the keyword to be required, while other keywords that are normally separated by a comma “,” still act as the traditional “OR” operator.

Let’s quickly pretend that we want to target Apples or Oranges, and Bananas. Our keyword target for this campaign could be written as “Apples, Oranges, +Bananas”.

We are also super excited to share that we have added support for keyword groups using parenthesis “()”. Placing keywords in a group introduces a whole new world of possibilities for advanced keyword targeting.

Let’s quickly pretend we that we want to target Apples and Oranges or Apples and Bananas. Our keyword target for this campaign could be written as “(Apples, Oranges), (Apples, Bananas)”

Did you know we also have support for in URL targeting, date and time targeting and publisher targeting? You can read all about these advanced targeting features here.

*Note: Advanced Keyword Targeting only applies to the preferred keyword targeting options.
